Eligibility :

"A candidate with undergraduate degree in any discipline from a recognized University with not less than 50% aggregate of all the years having studied Mathematics or Statistics or Computer Science or Computer programming or Business Mathematics or Business Statistics as one of the elective at Degree Level."

Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programme is offered by Faculty of Computer Applications, PES University. The programme is aimed at equipping the undergraduates with varied backgrounds who aspire to seek career in the field of Information Technology.

The MCA graduates will be well competent professional practitioner and can suitably occupy positions such as System Analyst, System Designers, Software Engineers, Application Programmers etc.

Objectives :

Two broad objectives of the programme are as follows:

• To create a knowledge and skill base to meet the growing technical manpower requirements at IT sector.
• To promote research and development activities in the field of varied aspects of computer applications.

Curriculum :
The MCA programme curriculum has been designed keeping in view the requirements of the IT industry. The contents of various courses have been evolved with intensive inputs from the experts from academia and industry.

Three broad components of the programme such as core computer science courses, programming languages and application oriented courses make the curriculum sound and complete.

Final semester of the programme is devoted to a project which can be either an application development or research work and can be carried out in software industry or in University itself.
